CP Telecom was founded in 1994 and is a facilities based full service integrated communications provider serving customers
in the state of Minnesota. CP Telecom is a privately held profitable company providing local phone service and long
distance phone service to business customers and Internet access and web site hosting to business and residential
customers. CP Telecom is one of the fastest growing telecommunications companies in Minnesota.
Founded in 1994 by its Chairman, Chad Braafladt, and Mary McClernon, CP Telecom has grown into one
of the leading telecommunications companies in Minnesota. Originally founded as an IT consulting enterprise,
the company became an Internet Service Provider in 1995 and grew rapidly as the Internet expanded. The company
expanded its growth across the state of Minnesota through five acquisitions of other ISPs in 2000, 2001 and 2002
in Minneapolis, Southern Minnesota, North-Eastern Minnesota and Western Minnesota to serve over 20,000 customers.
In 2002, CP Telecom installed Class 5 local phone switches in Minneapolis and Duluth, Minnesota to serve
the entire state of Minnesota. CP Telecom began offering facilities based telephone service in January,
2003 via its Lucent Class V. After experiencing rapid initial growth primarily focusing on the wholesale
and carrier market, the company expanded its service offerings and introduced integrated local, long
distance and Internet access service via digital T1 facilities to small and medium sized business customers in October 2003.
