Hungry Kids International
In 1986, Bob and Betty King
of Fort Worth, Texas, left their jobs and formed an organization
called Hungry Kids International. The first children's home was
founded in Mexico near the Texas border and opened the on June
2, 1986, providing loving Christian care, medical attention and
food to dozens of needy children. The home was called Casa Del
Rey (House of the King). Since that time, they have opened at
least two additional homes, with increasing numbers of children
coming under their care.
Casa Del Rey receives children from a variety of avenues: some are sent by the courts, others by the DIF (Mexican welfare office), and some by parents or neighbors who know the children will be loved and well cared for.
It is my belief and conviction that deep in their hearts most
people want to do more than they are doing to help meet needs
in the larger world around them. But we also know how hard it
is to earn a buck, and we want our contributions to go somewhere
where they'll make a difference.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS PAGE is to introduce you to Bob and
Betty King.
Their generosity made a difference in our lives at one of its
critical junctures.
I know that if you want to be part of something that will make
a difference in a life,
becoming a supporter of Hungry Kids International will be a very
satisfying experience.
The Kings are fully given to the children they serve and lead.
Once I figure out the best way to do it, I will be showing here some of the kids Susie and I helped take care of when we lived and worked in Mexico... Tonio, Juanito, Julio, Norma... kids who touched our hearts and are still a part of us today.
